Cruise Tulear

TULEAR : is the main town of the south western Madagascar. It is built on dunes and bathed in the heat all the year. At the center of the city are situated the food product market, the market of shells, the ethnographical and oceanographical museums.At the north of the city, at about 25 kilometers is Ifaty, the Tuléar beach and to the east the famous arboretum of Antsokay.

Ifaty

Situated 25 km to the north of the city, Ifaty becoming a famous beach resort and diving spot, is considered to be the " Toliary beach " where all nautical activities including wind surfing, yachting, excursion by pirogue and scuba diving are possible to admire magnificent coral reefs.Ifaty is also a typical spiny forest, dominated by species of Didiereacea and the baobab specific to the region, Adansonia rubrustipa, or the bottle-shaped tree. The whole area is very flat and sandy. Waders and other sea birds are attracted to the mudflats, rocky areas and beaches around the coast..

City Tour

Tamarind, coconut and date trees line the beautiful avenues that leads to the bay of Tulear. Its market place with different sections where daily farmers sell directly their products is very attractive: the fish market , vegetables, the beasts market (turkeys, chickens, goats, …) ; it is also the best places to meet the local smiling population ; without any doubt it would be the most beautiful photography of the excursion.Moreover , the shells market due to its marvellous shells variety deserves a visit. Visitors will be proposed coral, shells of tortoise, sharks jaws .The ethnographical museum : belonging to the university center of Tuléar, shows the recent archeological discoveries in the South ; it summarizes the Great South which is itself an open sky museum because of its arts and the funeral monuments of different southern tribes, tombs decorated by zebu horns and aloalo totems.
