| Mont
Passot |
| (duration
: 4 or 7 hours) |
The
starting point of this excursion is Hellville, a calm township
that seems to live in the nostalgia of the past. Here the modernism
contrasts briskly with the old houses, the visit of the markets
allows visitors to buy some souvenirs : the most recommended are
the bottles of mangoes achard and papayas, the colored paréos
"lambaoany", the magnificent shells, miniature pirogues
sculpted by children. Mont Passot is the second culminating peak
of the island with 329m of altitude. From the summit, the best
place to admire the sun set, a panoramic and exceptional view
of all the island, of the fascinated volcanic lakes and also of
the other islands environment complete the pleasure of the visitors
